Home Away from Home in Trudder Lodge
Guarded by ancient trees in the forests of County Wicklow, this gorgeous alternative wedding venue is easily accessible from Dublin City or Airport via Dublin’s M50 and M11.
This cosy family home and its enchanting labyrinthine garden trails are perfect for a secluded and unforgettable celebration. Or, for a more energetic escape, you can arrange for golf, horse riding, and clay pigeon shooting!
Tall windows bathe you in light. And grand rooms flow gently into one another, to maintain a perfect party atmosphere.
Trudder Lodge is perfectly cosy, and is only a stone’s throw from Newtown Mount Kennedy, between Greystones and Roundwood. This 19th-century Palladian house boasts serene indoor and outdoor spaces, giving a unique and idyllic backdrop for a romantic and intimate wedding.
This venue is ideal for small- to medium-sized weddings; their maximum guest capacity is 130 people. And unlike most mainstream venues, there is no minimum guest requirement. This makes Trudder Lodge absolutely perfect for intimate elopements!
The spacious rooms of Trudder Lodge are all bright, warm, and inviting. Designed as a family home, Trudder Lodge feels every bit like one; the one single and five double bedrooms are the ideal blend of homely and luxurious. Just imagine waking up with the sun peeking in through the curtains, with views over the beautiful grounds tempting you outside.
You can hire out Trudder Lodge exclusively for one night or two, with availability from the end of March to October (2025). For larger groups, nearby B&Bs include Druids Glen and The Parkview, and other self-catering villages all within a 10-minute drive. So there is plenty of accommodation around and a panel of caterers to choose from!

We highly recommend having your wedding ceremony at Trudder Lodge. Even on a wet day, their glass Garden Room is naturally luminous and will make a wedding ceremony truly magical.
Couples will walk down the long Garden Room, showered in light and watched over by the abundant flower bushes outside the big windows. The stone wall, wooden furnishings, and ribbons of ivy all around make this a massively charming and memorable space for your wedding ceremony.
Trudder Lodge’s Walled Garden
With the ceremony complete, guests can move to the Walled Garden for fun and games. Follow the enchanting starlights around the garden wall, or enter through the old gardener’s door.
The Walled Garden is a beautifully sweet place to enjoy the revelry after your ceremony! Trudder Lodge even offers floodlit golf putting and chipping green, as well as a grass tennis court!
Follow the lights along the babbling brook to reach your own secret garden escape. This private forest glade is perfect for portraits! Hold each other under the Rose Cage and bask in the post-ceremony glow together – this time is precious.
Marquee Dinner under Starlights
As the party moves on, guests will make their way to Trudder Lodge’s marquee for a grand feast!
Their marquee is lit with rows of starlights, guaranteeing a sweet and romantic dinner with loved ones. It’s also full heated, and comes stocked with all tables, chairs, cutlery and crockery necessary – and even its own PA system! Additionally, there is also no charge for corkage.
