Clonabreany House, Meath Wedding Venue
If you’re searching for the wedding venue that fits your dreams, this guide will help you. As photographers, Ivana and I want to highlight some of our favourite (and the most picturesque-) venues in Ireland; this time, we’ll explore the country gem that is Clonabreany House!
Just an hour northwest of Dublin, nestled in the peaceful meadows of Co. Meath, is Clonabreany House.
Clonabreany House has so much to offer wedding parties year-round. Thanks to their variety of cosy indoor areas and enchanting grounds, it’s suitable for all seasons.
Reaching Clonabreany House is easy; follow the M3 motorway out of Dublin, passing Navan, and turning left after the historic town of Kells. Despite being handily close to the major roads, Clonabreany maintains a pastoral quietness. This country estate’s ambience and enchanting grounds are steeped in history.

Getting Married at Clonabreany House
Clonabreany House can accommodate weddings of all shapes and sizes. Their warm, luxurious facilities are perfect for cosy Winter celebrations; while warm weather invites guests out into the mystical demesne for a garden blessing.
Famous for its quality banquets and accommodation, Clonabreany boasts a rich and flexible menu for all tastes; six months prior to your wedding, Clonabreany even offers a complimentary menu and wine tasting day! Considering how highly-rated their food and service is, this will certainly be a day to look forward to.
Clonabreany has a variety of places to relax, celebrate, dine and, of course, to get married;
Ceremony Spots
1. The Orchard Room
The Orchard Room is long and narrow, with seating for 220 guests flanking the centre aisle; this is Clonabreany House’s on-site chapel for indoor civil ceremonies. This intimate room makes for a perfect ceremony during cooler weather, with warming lamplight and a wall of festive lights at the back.
For religious (church) weddings, contact the nearby Kilskyre and Ballinlough Catholic churches. Kells and Oldcastle (also within 15 minutes of Clonabreany) will host Church of Ireland ceremonies.
The tranquil meadows and woods nearby contribute to the Orchard Room’s peaceful atmosphere, as does the old walled orchard. Visible from The Orchard Room is the Sliabh na Caillighe hills, plus the Loughcrew Cairns, which attest to Clonabreany’s ancient, spiritual history.

2. The Tunnel Wood
If you’d prefer an outdoor, woodland (civil) ceremony, then the Tunnel Wood is ideal. Close to the Courtyard guest homes, as well as the mystical Loughcrew Cairns, outdoor ceremonies are a wonderful (and picture-perfect) option! As you head to the Main House from the Tunnel Wood, you may pass under a cute stone bridge flanked by lavender. Here you can soak in the view of the Lower Lake, the neighbouring flora, and the rolling pastures beyond. Did I mention that Clonabreany is picturesque?

Butler’s Rest Bar
Butlers Rest Bar has an old-time country feel, especially when there’s live traditional Irish music! This bar is spacious, yet snug, and ideal for parties (pre- and post-ceremony!), and is mere steps away from the Courtyard cottages. Meanwhile, the Shebeen Bar is located back in the Main House for the drinks reception.

Events at the Main House
Following your ceremony, everyone will migrate over behind the Main House for the drinks reception. After enjoying yourself in the courtyard, it will be time for the great banquet!
Dinner (and dancing) will commence in the beautiful Grand Marquee. Clonabreany can accommodate up to 220 guests (with space for 90 guests in the Courtyard cottages), and as so many guests attest, the food and drink is exceptional!
The Grand Marquee accommodates a minimum of 80 people, and a maximum of 220. For more intimate weddings, however, the homely Diamor Suite welcomes you! A mere bouquet’s throw from the Courtyard cottages, the Diamor Suite is charming, bright, and comfortably close.
The Diamor Suite can accommodate a minimum of 40 guests and a max of 60; your guests will surely be charmed both by the comfy atmosphere and the wonderful food!
