Connemara Honeymoon in Galway, Ireland | Kacey & Alex
With one eye up to the ever-changing cloudscape, our long drive westwards finally brought us to wild Connemara. The waning sun cast tiger stripes of light across the mountains. The scenery was so mesmerising, we knew we’d found the perfect place for our Honeymoon couple!
“Working with Ivana and Sam was one of the highlights of our honeymoon to Ireland in 2019 and left us with stunning pictures that are still on display in our home. Truly some of the most talented and thoughtful photographers I’ve ever worked with. I would highly recommend them to anyone!”
– Kacey Thelen
Fresh from their wedding in Michigan (and their stop-over in Iceland!), Kacey and Alex arrived in beautiful Connemara, Galway. Kacey missed Ireland after a whirlwind tour while in the University of Notre Dame. At long last, she could now return with her husband, Alex.
We met the Michigan pair outside the Leenane Sheep & Wool Centre and right away, Kacey and Alex were so enthusiastic and gracious. Arriving in such a beautiful part of Ireland was certainly worth the long trip!
Our original plan involved exploring Connemara National Park. However, we wanted Kacey and Alex to see as much of Connemara as possible while they were here! From Leenane, we travelled along Killary Fjord (Ireland’s only Fjord!) and briefly up to Aasleagh Falls. Afterwards, we ventured back along our trail and down to Lough Inagh, below Connemara National Park.
The waters of Aasleagh Falls were stunning. Resplendent with rushing water, tall grass, and, towering behind our couple, the mighty Leenane Hill and Devilsmother mountain. Our only neighbours were the Salmon fishers; everyone enjoyed the sights of Aasleagh Falls, which sent water skipping into the fjord.
Connemara: A Land of Ancient Beauty
Inagh Valley was the land of the sheep! They were scattered everywhere and didn’t care who had places to be before sunset! Just below Connemara Park, the beautiful vista of Lough Inagh was our final stop. Set between the Maumturks and Benbaun, this vast and windy lake gave Kacey and Alex some much-needed huddle time.
Out of nowhere, a puppy arrived as if to bless our photoshoot and give everyone some love!
Thank you both so much for the pleasure of capturing your Connemara honeymoon! We loved every minute and got to enjoy the natural wonders of the west of Ireland together. Congratulations Kacey and Alex!
